GOOD JOB AJC SPORTS CLUB TCHOUK BALL GIRLS TEAM!Love you all! You did us all proud and we've shown them. Those who look down on us, that we are just another cca in the school, that we are ODAC wannabes or ODAC rejects. To such people, shut your trap and read the next line.
WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS. 1st in A Div Tchouk Ball Competition. So, shut up and stop all your snide comments about us. We've come back strong and shown the world that you can't defeat us, not with your words anyway. You can't get us down. Eat your words please, for we are CHAMPIONS.
So, yesterday was a tsunami of emotions day.
First, there were unpleasant comments of us made known. (Note: Unpleasant is just an understatment.) Oh, please get the facts before you make such comments.
We don't train enough? That is utterly inaccurate, and a downplay of all our efforts.
We had trainings three to four times a week. Same as volleyball and whatever cca. We train from the early afternoon to late in the night, where all sorts of weird insects surrounded us in the darkness of the basketball courts. We trained so much that every single one of us became many tones darker, tan lines on our foot and thighs and arms. We trained so much and so hard that everyone is basically injured in one way or another. Sprained fingers, sprianed ankles, muscle pulls etc. We trained that much until every single long weekend that we had this whole term is taken away. When everyone had their extra day of rest, we are off waking up early, perspiring like pigs during training. Isn't that more than enough?
Because in my opinion, we've trained way more than is required by us. We could have opposed to all the trainings on saturdays and school holidays, or even outside our cca days. But we didn't. We've cast aside our studies for all our trainings. Imagine the moutain-load of work all of us need to catch up on. It is no easy task, just as it was balancing CCA, school work and whatever that was going on in our lives. Just because we don't train in school, in front of the pe dept, doesn't mean we don't train enough. Maybe, the reason why we don't train in school is because of you. Because we aren't given that recognition, which makes facilities unavailable.
We are failures? Eat your words, because we emerged as winners. We've proven you wrong. It isn't easy, in fact, it was out of our dreams that we can proudly proclaim we are champions. Because, we had only one month to prepare for A division. Because, we had almost no support in preparation for this competition. Because, we didn't have facilities easily available to us in preparation for A div. Because, we weren't taken seriously when we said we were training for A division.
And what makes this victory sweeter is that you can no longer say we are failures.
It is through this whole period that we see the bond in the cca. No one will understand, unless you are a Sport Clubber. We slogged our guts out together, we were angry together, we laughed together and most importantly, we cheered for each other. I never enjoyed cca as much last year. We've never been as close before, with all the after-training meals we had together, the celebratory meals we had, the trainings for our cyclethon and tchouk-ball and cycling together overnight.
The amount of effort, trainings, perspiration and hard work were all behind the scenes. No one knew except the Sports Clubbers. No one understood, except the Sports Clubbers. No one could apprehend why we wanted to win it so much, except the Sports Clubbers. Look at how far we've come. From knowing nuts about Tchouk-ball, we clinched first place for the girls and third for the guys.
The process, undertaken by Sports Club is only understood by Sports Clubbers and our teachers who showed us their unwavering support and belief in us, even in the midst of all the turmoil and adversaries we faced.
We've shown that we are no failures, and we are no ordinary cca. You can't get us down.
I'm really proud of Sports Club and all the Sports Clubbers, team or non-team. We've done our best, and we made it our best.
The victory is sweet indeed.
Now, we jsut gotta catch up on our work and do our very best for the Ma Bao Tan Cup. (:
Bye bye world. Ain't gonna blog about other stuff. Don't wanna ruin it.
