You put up walls and paint them all a shade of gray
And I stood there loving you and wished them all away
And you come away with a great little story
Of a mess of a dreamer with the nerve to adore you
If you had eyes at the back of your head,You would have seen that fallen face,
The brokeness caused by that,
As you walked ahead.
It is simply amazing how much emotions can change within 24 hours. The same place, the same people, but a different ending evoking a different feeling. Disappointment over the euphoria. It is such a cycle. The crest and the trough. The light and the dark. Yesterday gave way to today. But today only made me long for yesterday. As Leona Lewis sings, "they can never have yesterday." Everything is gonna be locked up in some remote little corner in the darkened heart.
We remember moments, we remember feelings. And so, we will remember how certain events make us feel. We gotta have faith, even in our worst form of extremism. This is no fairytale, no miracle, no dream come true. For this is merely life. And we are all mere mortals trapped in this endless cycle. This we must all accept. It started where it will end. And it ended where it had started.
Combined Mass Civcs today was supposed to be motivational. Yet, on top of the motivation, it was bittersweet. There was the tinge of sadness, or so I felt. It was more than the motivations. Emotions might have been disguised, or woven into the motivation. Who knows.
It's been jinxed. Totally.
